LettuceThis season’s CSA will be run as a U-Pick CSA. Each week you will be given a dollar amount that reflects the break-down of the cost of your share per week minus our handling costs, you will then be allowed to pick from any items on our tables to reach your dollar amount. If you exceed this amount, the overage must be paid at the time of pick up. Items that you pick from will be supplied by Seed of Life Nurseries as well as other local farms and orchards, this provides a large variety of both fruits and vegetables for our members to receive.

Our CSA aims to help members offset some of their grocery shopping with fresh, local produce during each week of the growing season; members should not rely on CSA shares to completely supplement all of their produce needs each week as the cost of a Full Share is approximately $22 per week and the cost of a Half Share is approximately $12 per week.

By Participating in our CSA, you accept the share of the risks that are involved in farming, and that can occur in vegetable farming. We are not responsible for any weather events such as: tornados, floods, droughts, earthquakes, hurricanes, lightning strikes, swarms of bugs, or other similar events that may cause a crop not to be harvestable.    If such events occur, we may refund members up to 10% of the membership. Vegetables may have imperfections on them because we do not use harmful pesticides on them. We are an all natural grower meaning we do not use harmful pesticides or fertilizer on our crops.

What Makes Our CSA Stand Out

Because we are a 501c3 non-profit organization, by purchasing a share with us, you are helping another family in need in Frederick eat healthy. For every sign up we receive, we adopt a family in need out of our community to provide fresh produce to for the growing season at no cost to them. A fraction of your CSA Share is tax deductible and you will receive a tax donation slip after the completion of the season. The main goal of our non-profit is to help families eat healthy, no matter their income nor life circumstances. By supporting us you are supporting your Frederick County community.
